At DSA we believe that cross docking is one of our most important strategies as we try to develop programs to drive logistical costs and supply chain pipeline. We have extensive cross dock experience from managing distribution for our BJ’s customer both here in New England and in our sister facility in Bristol, PA. We also provide cross docking services for many of our other customers, including SmithKline Beecham, Coors Brewing Company, Nabisco, Grainger Electronics, Dole Packaged Foods, Favorite Brands, and Hormel Foods.

We are currently in the process of developing a slow velocity SKU cross docking program that will more closely align production with distribution of these products. We are also going to employ cross docking in both our Store Ready pallet program, and our Merchandising support Program.

We feel that with our implementation of technological support systems (such as RF/ASN) and our focus on supply chain process improvements, cross docking will play an important part of our future logistical strategies.
