Case Studies and Industry Initiatives Issue: The Manulife Financial Centre is part of a project which combined the logistic collaboration of an Italian-based freight forwarding company, Archimede Gruden USA,Inc. and an American transportation and warehousing company, D.S.A Foxboro. The outer skin of the building is made of a special heat and cold resistant glass invented and manufactured in Italy. The project consisted of 200 containers, total of approximately 800 units shipped from the manufacturer's factory of glass panels in Italy to the port of Boston. Archimede Gruden Italy and Archimede Gruden USA were involved primarily
in the shipments on containers thanks to their fast and reliable ocean
service from all major Italian ports to the US, in particular Boston and
New York, with further available service inland. |
